Charles "Buzz" Stetler

Founder

After being a committed investor in the stock market, I realized that the normal accumulation model of "save, save, save" was not going to help me prosper in retirement. In the first year of the Coronavirus pandemic, I decided to sell my dental practice, ending a 32 year career as a dentist. Then my journey into my own financial education began. I started to move away from typical Wall Street investments and appreciate the power of taking your financial future into your own hands.

I found that my own two sons were taught very little in their early education about financial health. I believe there should be a focus on teaching topics of financial health to young people. They should understand the principles of wealth-building and the significance of financial freedom. They should be shown the role that money plays in our society and how it affects everything in life. They should honor the “soul of money” by channeling their wealth (both inner and outer) toward their highest ideals. Ultimately, overall well being is key to a successful and prosperous life.

In my own financial education, I have been influenced by sources like Robert Kiyosaki’s Rich Dad, Poor Dad, Lynne Twist’s The Soul of Money, and Napoleon Hill’s Outwitting the Devil, to name a few. (Other sources that guide the Zeneration Wealth platform) My business partner Cheyne Minto is a charismatic young man who is passionate about sharing a new paradigm of success with his generation. I hope we can connect with leaders of the next generation and help guide them through the maze of personal finance and well being.

My favorite resources

The Soul of Money

Lynne Twist

This book and the principles therein are the foundation of Zeneration Wealth. "Money itself isn’t the problem...It is our interpretation of money, our interaction with it, where the real mischief is and where we find the real opportunity for self-discovery and personal transformation."

Man's Search for Meaning

Viktor Frankl

Meaning, according to Frankl, is found in three different forms. Meaning is found in creating or doing, experiencing something greater than ourselves and in encountering another being through love. Fiinally, meaning can be found in the attitude we take toward unavoidable suffering.

The Apprenticeship Model

Dr. David Phelps

The majority is usually wrong. You cannot follow the majority and expect different results. Decide to live life with purpose and commit to lifelong learning. Accept responsibility for yourself and remember, risk is OK.
